All good things come in threes, so the saying goes. With the eagerly awaited arrival of Sacred Paws' third album via Mogwai's Rock Action label, that sentiment still rings true. The duo of Ray Aggs and Eilidh Rodgers are now older and wiser. So too is their music. Filled with effervescent joy ….
Opinion: Excellent
When the duo of Ray Aggs and Eilidh Rodgers first broke through with their debut album as Sacred Paws, audiences were naturally drawn to their incandescent riffs and rhythms. This energetic merging of post-punk, indie-pop and highlife was only accentuated by their seamless partnership, which leapt out at anyone listening to or watching the pair. The album, Strike a Match, went on to win the Scottish Album of the Year Award in 2017 and their following release in 2019 Run Around The Sun cemented their capabilities as both individual musicians in their own right and as a steadfast unit.

The onset of spring seems entirely appropriate for the release of Sacred Paws third album 'Jump Into Life', released via Mogwai's Rock Action record label. It's been five years since the duo released second album 'Run Around the Sun' (Rock Action). The Glasgow/London pair of Ray Aggs (Trash Kit, Shopping) and Eilidh Rodgers (Golden Grrrls) decided to take the time they needed to produce album number three, and the result is absolutely worth the wait.
